james writes "The current economic climate that we are experiencing has resulted in an increase in
fraudulent activity. The Idaho Department of Insurance has organized a Fraud Awareness Coalition, made up of the Better Business Bureau, members of the insurance industry and other community and government agencies, to help bring an educational program to the citizens of Idaho. The objectives of the Coalition are to
* raise awareness about the impact and consequences of fraud,
* teach Idahoans how to recognize fraud and protect themselves
from it and
* encourage consumers to report fraud to the appropriate
authorities.
To accomplish this, we are hosting free seminars throughout the state.
The Boise seminar is being hosted by the LDS Church located at Curtis and Cassia (next to Borah High School). This seminar will be held Friday, May 8, 7:00-8:00 p.m. The seminar is open to the public. We invite and encourage everyone to attend.
The Coalition has a website, http://fightfraud.idaho.gov/, where people may go for information about fraud, to see a schedule of events, to see a list of our sponsors, and to find links to other fraud websites.
Please contact Tricia Carney with questions about this event, 334-4312, tricia.carney@doi.idaho.gov.
Thank you so much for your help!
